re:ipl is hosted at COHATCH OHIO CITY at the southeast corner of 28th and Detro-
it. The address is 2814 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113. Attendees are encoura-
ged to use a rideshare (like Uber or Lyft) or walk from the Hilton if attending
SHARE.
COhatch has a small parking lot to the east of the building with 10 spots and
a handicap accessible spot. There is also ample street parking in the surround-
nding area for free without time restrictions.

In the beginning, mainframe user conferences were about sharing code and experi-
ences focused on getting the most out of the system. Over time those sharing se-
ssions gave way to vendor sessions focused mostly on how to take advantage of
their products. These sessions are mostly lecture with users listening to HOWTO
content.
re:ipl is focused on recreating the early user conference experience: users int-
eracting using modern technologies and techniques. Instead of lecture, sessions
will be discussions, incorporating the ideas and perspectives of the entire aud-
ience. Instead of an agenda picked out for the community, discussions revolve
around attendees' interests.
The time has come for the mainframe community to return to its roots, work coll-
ectively to address problems, build solutions, and network in the 21st century.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR RE:IPL?
Registration is not required for either virtual or in person attendance. To att-
end re:ipl follow the instructions below for how you want to join.
Attendees must be in a good standing with the System Z Enthusiasts Discord but
are not required to be a member of the System Z Enthusiasts Discord to attend
re:ipl.
HOW DO I JOIN VIRTUALLY?
Simply join DISCORD before the event kicks off and you're free to participate!
Once you're in, look for the live-event channel under the Events category or hop
straight to this link HERE to go straight to the channel if you're already plug-
ged in. If you need help, ask in any channel and someone helpful will guide you!
HOW DO I JOIN IN PERSON?
re:ipl Kicks off at COhatch Ohio City (2814 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113) @
7:00 PM Eastern US. We have room for 75 people and have planned food, drink, and
swag for that count. If you would like to partake, we recommend you arrive on
time (we'll likely let you in early if you turn up early). We will be recommend-
ing the folks monitoring the doors of the venue that once we have run out of
pins (75 of those, they are numbered) we will start suggesting people not be al-
lowed into the event. We will try and monitor the flow of folks. Respectfully,
we ask that you do not make our hosts (COhatch) regret hosting us by going over
our numbers. Food, drink, and swag are first come, first served so arrive early!
HOW DO I HOST A BREAKOUT?
We have a single breakout room available this year at re:ipl. To host a breakout
attendees are encouraged to simply occupy the room. If you'd like to make an an-
nouncement in the main room, please feel free to do so or ask an organizer to
make the announcement for you. Breakouts are not scheduled and are not required.
Breakout hosts are encouraged to follow the same guidelines as the main re:ipl
sessions: focus on discussion, not lecture. Breakouts are a great way to dive
into a topic in more detail, share experiences, and collaborate with others who
are interested in the same subject.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN A BREAKOUT?
Visit the breakout room and join the discussion! If you have a topic you'd like
to discuss, feel free to start the conversation. Breakouts are open to all atte-
ndees of re:ipl.
HOW DO I HELP WITH RE:IPL?
re:ipl is a community-driven event, and we welcome your help! If you'd like to
contribute to the funding of re:ipl we ask that you visit our TILTIFY to make a
contribution. All funds raised will go directly to the cost of re:ipl, includ-
ing food, drink, and swag. If you would like to help with the event in other
ways, please reach out to us on the System Z Enthusiasts Discord. We are always
looking for volunteers to help with setup, teardown, and other tasks.
